Louis wins second term as Okanagan Indian Band chief

Incumbent faced three other candidates during the election Tuesday

Louis topped the polls with 256 votes during Tuesday’s band election.

“I’m looking forward to continuing with some of the process made in the last few years,” said Louis.

Coming in second place was former chief Fabian Alexis with 132 votes while former chief Dan Wilson received 129 votes and Bernadine Marchand received 57 votes.

Elected as councillors are Allan Louis, Leland Wilson, Tim Isaac, Diana Louis, Homer Alexis, Coola Louis, Raymond Marchand, Lyle Brewer, Russell Williams and Barbra Cole.

There were 25 candidates for the 10 councillor positions.
