Youth are being warned about online luring after a recent incident in Lumby.
A 15-year-old girl notified the RCMP that she had been receiving Facebook messages from an unknown male who was asking personal questions.
“Surprisingly, the male left his phone number,” said Cpl. Henry Proce.
“Even more surprisingly, the male who answered, stated he was in Jamaica. He was told to cease communicating with the teen.”
Proce praises the actions of the teen.
“The complainant did all of the right things before allowing herself to become a victim of on-line luring,” he said.
