Man approaches teen in Delta store washroom

On Sunday afternoon, a 13-year-old who was using the washroom at a North Delta Zellers store noticed a man peeking through the crack of the door at him.

Then, the man, believed to be in his 50s, entered the stall beside the boy and attempted to make contact with his foot under the divide.

The teen yelled out for help, then heard the man leave the washroom.

The young boy left the washroom and continued shopping with his parents, later reporting the incident to store staff, who called police.

The suspect is described as an overweight Caucasian male (50 to 60 years old), balding, with salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a green shirt, green and white shorts, black shoes and gold-rimmed glasses.

Delta Police have not had similar incidents reported to them but are taking this

opportunity to encourage citizens to be ever vigilant and report suspicious circumstances

and persons as soon as possible in order to increase the potential of locating and identifying

suspects.
