Members of the Metchosin Fire Department helped rescue a man in his 60s who had fallen down a steep slope off Parry Cross Road into a ravine on Sunday.
The call came in at about 3:30 p.m., said Capt. Simon Chadwick. Metchosin firefighters, assisted by Sooke Fire Rescue, used ropes and a clam shell stretcher during the slope rescue, and West Shore RCMP attended as well, Chadwick said.
The man, who had been reported missing Friday, was taken to hospital by BC Ambulance for possible hypothermia.
Parry Cross Road is off Parry Road, which leads from William Head Road near Metchosin Hall.
