Market stays at Kal Tire Place

While one farmers market is moving, another one is staying right where it has been for years.

The Vernon Farmers Market is clarifying it remains at Kal Tire Place Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the Vernon Friday Night Market, that used to be at the Village Green Centre, has gone to the Avenue Market on 30th Avenue Fridays.

“There seems to be a bit of confusion with all of the new markets popping up and we have received several calls and e-mails inquiring as to what is going on,” said Ingrid Baron, Vernon Farmers Market manager.

“The Vernon Friday Night Market has run independently from our market for several years.”

The Vernon Farmers Market has more than 165 vendors.

“We have a very strong farmers market at Kal Tire Place and will be staying at that location for many years to come,” said Baron.

The Avenue Market on 30th Avenue is organized by the Downtown Vernon Association and it runs Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m.
