With Rotary Million Dollar Hole in One starting today, organizers have announced that it is adding a ladies’ final to the event.
Qualifying rounds for the event run from May 30 through June 7 at Fraserglen Golf Course, with finals running June 8.
There are 95 yards between the tee and the pin during the first eight days, but for the final round, the hole is 165 yards away.
There are junior, ladies and Rotary qualifying days, and more than $25,000 in prizes will be awarded to the 12 qualifiers per day.
This year, organizers have added a ladies’ final round, with up to 25 women qualifying. From those, the top three will have the chance to shoot from 135 yards for $100,000, and the best of those will move on to the final shootout, where a hole-in-one will net the golfer $1 million.
The majority of proceeds raised this year will benefit Abbotsford Hospice Society’s Holmberg House.
“This year marks a milestone for the Rotary Club of Abbotsford,” says president Hugh Ellis. “With over one half million raised already, we are thankful to our sponsors and supporters who join us in meeting our goals.”
Ladies Day is June 3, and Juniors Day is June 6.
