Two missing Vernon girls have been located safe and sound in Manitoba.
Saylor Nicole Martian, and Tina Kontos, both 15, were reported mssing by their parents to RCMP on Nov. 28.
They were located in Headingley, Man., about 30 minutes outside of Winnipeg.
“One of the girls reportedly made contact with her parents, letting them know where they were,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
Police say it appears, after Greyhound had no record of the pair being on any of their buses, that the girls may have hitchhiked to Manitoba.
The girls have been apprehended by police in Headingley, and arrangements are being made to have them returned to Vernon.
“The Vernon RCMP would like to thank the media and concerned friends and family who have been posting that the girls were missing, and asking for assistance in locating them so we could return them home safely,” said Molendyk.
