Clearwater RCMP have confirmed that the body of Courtney Buck has been found.
According to Cpl. Bart Doerr, Buck’s body was recovered from the North Thompson River at 3 p.m. on Friday.
The positive identification has been confirmed, he said.The outcome was the result of search efforts by local concerned citizens.
The young teacher was located in 12 feet of water approximately 400 meters from where the vehicle was recovered.
Buck went missing Sunday evening when the vehicle she and her husband, Skye Buck, were traveling in went off Highway 5 and into the river.
Skye Buck’s body was recovered with the vehicle the following day. An extensive search took place for Courtney but without success. The official search was scaled back on Wednesday.
