A solo exhibition for Mission artist Serena Trinder will be held at the Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.) in Abbotsford from Feb. 7 to March 3, with the opening reception on Feb. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Trinder’s exhibit is called A Tale of Two Countries and explores man’s changing relationship with his environment.
Having moved to Canada from Dorset, England in 2010, Trinder now lives in Mission.
She creates work inspired mainly by landscapes and architecture, strongly influenced by the great European stained glass windows, which she visited during her childhood.
While in England, Trinder sold private work and illustrated books. Since arriving in Canada, she has exhibited in several private galleries throughout the Fraser Valley and held two exhibitions at the Mission Arts Centre. In 2013, she was awarded the Muse Award in the Visual Arts: Emerging Artist category.
