In honour of the premier episode of Gracepoint, the Oak Bay News and the businesses of Oak Bay Village, proudly hosted a fundraiser to raise the remaining $4,000 needed for the Oak Bay Fire Department to purchase a new set of the jaws of life.
On Oct. 2, more than 200 people enjoyed a glass of champagne, hors d’oeuvres and a commercial-free screening of Gracepoint’s premier episode at the Oak Bay United Church. Organizers Dianne McKerrell, Oak Bay News and Liz Smith, president of the Oak Bay BIA, were pleased with the community’s response to the event.
All of the food, beverages, décore and door prizes were donated so the entire sum of $4,115 raised through ticket sales went directly to the fire department.
