Motley Crue to rock Abbotsford in April

The hard rock group will be in town April 23 as part of its 2013 Canadian tour.

Motley Crue is coming to town to rock the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

The world famous band has released its 2013 Canadian tour schedule which includes a stop at the AESC on April 23.

Motley Crue will be joined by special guests Big Wreck; this will be the only time the band will perform in Canada throughout 2013.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, the quartet of Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee has been rocking for more than 30 years.

In that time, the group has accumulated worldwide album sales exceeding 80 million and earned seven platinum or multi-platinum albums, 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, six Top 20 pop singles, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, three Grammy nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and countless sold out tours across the globe, playing to millions of fans.

The first rock band in history to have completed an epic sold-out Las Vegas residency at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Motley Crue is best known for continuing to reinvent not only their live show (with mind blowing elements such as Tommy Lee’s 360 drum roller coaster) and music (the brand new song Sex released in summer 2012), but remain on the forefront of entertainment via cutting edge social media interaction.

“Abbotsford is proud to be the Lower Mainland’s host for Motley Crue.” said Mayor Bruce Banman. “This concert will draw people to stay in our city from across Southern BC and Washington.”

The band was recently featured in the award-winning Super Bowl commercial for the KIA Optima and the group’s best-selling memoir, The Dirt, is currently being adapted into a major motion picture.

Tickets for the April 23 show go on sale on March 1 at 10 a.m. They are available at the AESC box office, at abbotsfordcentre.ca or by phone at 1-866-977-2372. Tickets can also be purchased at the Abbotsford and Matsqui Recreation Centres or at Whatcom Wine and Spirits.
