Motor vehicle accident claims two lives in the BX

On Sunday at 6:30 a.m., Vernon RCMP officers were called to East Vernon Road.

A motor vehicle accident that claimed two lives in the BX is under investigation.

On Sunday at 6:30 a.m., Vernon RCMP officers were called to East Vernon Road.

“Early indications in this investigation are that a single motorcycle with two men on it had been travelling northbound on East Vernon Road when it left the roadway and struck a parked utility trailer,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

Both adult men were pronounced deceased at the scene.

“It does not appear that they were wearing helmets at the time of the collision,” said Noseworthy.

“This matter is still under investigation by the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service.”

The names of the deceased have not been released at this time.
