A six-vehicle collision on Cedar Street Saturday, opposite the indoor soccer facility, is being blamed on the weather.
Cst. Sebastian Fazzino said the call came in at about 3:40 p.m. and the block between Vernon and Front streets was closed for two hours. However, no injuries were reported.
Police attended along with fire crews, public works, and an auto wrecker to barricade the road.
“It was all at very slow speeds, with minimal damage to vehicles,” Fazzino said. “But they needed to be pulled apart with tow trucks. Weather was a major factor.”
Nelson received several centimeters of snow yesterday. Fazzino said there were other crashes around town, but all minor.
(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story said seven vehicles were involved.)
