Drivers are advised to plan for construction along Terminal Avenue due to road repairs.

Crews will be working on the stretch of highway from Stewart Avenue to St. George Street from today (July 19) until July 29.

According to a City of Nanaimo news release, the work is being undertaken to address structural road failures in preparation of road resurfacing in 2017.

The city says drivers should anticipate lengthy delays and is encouraging them to use alternate routes.

“Road rehabilitation construction on Terminal Avenue has been scheduled to minimize delays to motorists, but lengthy delays should still be anticipated,” said Jamie Rose, construction specialist with the City of Nanaimo. “We encourage people to consider alternate routes and appreciate your patience when driving through our construction site.”
