Police in Nanaimo are searching for a wooden carving of an octopus stolen from the Blue Poppy Gallery.

The carving went missing Feb. 12 after thieves smashed the gallery’s front display window at 321 Wesley St.

The piece is unique and has an estimated value of $1,200.
