More than 20 businesses were victims of a rash of graffiti downtown shortly before midnight Monday.
Sgt. Dino Falcone said in a news release that several business owners reported the graffiti as soon as they located the tags early Tuesday.
“Investigators are extremely pleased with how much video surveillance was provided to police today by the store owners in an attempt to assist police in solving this senseless crime,” Falcone wrote.
“Some business owners were visibly and understandably upset and are hoping that someone out there will provide police enough evidence to pursue charges of mischief.”
Falcone said investigators hope the suspects “do the right thing” and turn themselves in.
“With the public’s assistance and surveillance video, police are hopeful that the persons responsible for these acts will be located as soon as possible.”
