The Bulkley Valley Economic Development Association (BVEDA) has announced the launch of a new website, www.investnorthwestbc.ca, which provides detailed information on over $15 billion of planed projects and investments in the Northwest.

The goal is to help market the region to investors around the world.

According to a news release from the BVEDA, the website is a first of its kind for economic development websites and is the only protal in B.C. that communities have worked together to create.

“[The site] is such a vital tool to promote the region, it is the only spot in the web that can put into perspective the development that is happening in this region,” said BVEDA Economic Development Officer Allan Stroet. “What particularly excites me is the collaborative approach BVEDA has taken, now more than ever it is important to work together to put Northwest British Columbia on the international map.”

BVEDA has partnered with the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) and has gained support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and every community within Northern B.C. to undertak the project, said BVEDA Chair Paul Wellington.

“It is partnerships like this that are intergral to moving the region forward to an era of long-term economic prosperity,” he said.
