A new face behind the scenes hopes to expand exposure for a North Okanagan historic site.
Holly Wood has been hired by O’Keefe Ranch as marketing and event specialist.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for me to combine my work life with my passion for horses and western heritage,” she said.
Wood spent 16 years as the regional public relations director for Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Alberta. In 2009, she moved to Vernon to provide media relations, marketing and tourism advisory services as a member of the development team that opened Sparkling Hill Resort.
In recent years, Wood has contracted to hotels and destination marketing organizations throughout the Okanagan.
Wood says O’Keefe Ranch plays an important role in the region.
“Heritage tourism is one of the fastest growing segments of the tourism industry,” she said.
