Oyama alert lifted

The poor water quality rating was removed Friday at Pioneer Park on Kalamalka Lake.

Water quality concerns have come to an end at an Oyama beach.

The poor water quality rating was removed Friday at Pioneer Park on Kalamalka Lake.

“The water quality samples have been showing closer to the normal rating and sampling and monitoring will continue as per the normal routine,” said Karen Miller, District of Lake Country communications officer.

“It is at moderate currently and after a consistent run of lower results the rating will return to good.”

Swimming was not recommended at Pioneer Park after a poor water quality advisory was initiated July 11.

The cause of the poor water quality is unknown.
