Parks and recreation offers day camp during teachers’ strike

NANAIMO – Children ages five to 11 participate in games, crafts and other activities.

With Nanaimo teachers expected to strike on Tuesday (May 27), the City of Nanaimo parks and recreation department is offering a day camp for affected children.

From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Camp Firefly at Beban Park will keep students aged five to 11 busy with games, crafts and other recreational activities on the unscheduled day off.

The camp costs $35.
