This weekend marks the start of pay parking at Thetis Lake and Sooke Potholes regional parks. The summer rate, in effect from May 1 until Sept. 30, is $2.25 per day or $20 for a season’s pass.
Passes are valid at both parks. Buy them at CRD Parks headquarters, 490 Atkins Ave. in Langford, at the main park ticket dispenser, at Robbins Parking in downtown Victoria or the parking lot #2 dispenser at Sooke Potholes. If you buy a pass at CRD Parks headquarters or Robbins, a $10 refundable decal deposit must be given.
The CRD recently added a third parking lot to Sooke Potholes Regional Park near the Spring Salmon Place (KWL-UCHUN) Campground. The new parking lot will accommodate up to 56 vehicles.
CRD Regional Parks reminds visitors that Sooke Potholes is open 8am to 9pm and Thetis Lake from sunrise to sunset.
