Pedestrian struck at Ware Street and South Fraser Way

The 16-year-old girl was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries

A 16-year-old Abbotsford girl was taken to hospital on Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on South Fraser Way near Ware Street.

Const. Ian MacDonald said it appears that the girl and another person were crossing the street southbound and were not using a crosswalk at the time.

The teen was hit by a 2008 Hyundai Accent travelling west on South Fraser Way.

The 22-year-old male driver from Abbotsford remained on the scene and has co-operated with police.

The teen, who suffered undetermined injuries, is continuing to recover in hospital.

The area was closed for several hours while investigators remained on the scene.
