Penticton drug squad rings up first busts of 2013

Four people arrested over three days, with methamphetamine and prescription pills among the drugs seized

It didn’t take long for the Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force to make its first busts of the new year.

On Jan. 4, police arrested two people in a parking lot on Main Street and seized methampetamine, marijuana, morphine and drug trafficking paraphernalia, according to a press release.

Darcy Peter Colin, 38, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, plus a breach of probation. He remains in custody.

Shelby Ann Hicks, 28, is charged with a single count each of possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was granted bail.

Then on Jan. 7, the task force picked up two people in a vehicle on the 1800 block of Quebec Street and took a “substantial quantity” of ecstasy and magic mushrooms, plus “smaller amounts” of marijuana, Oxycontin and magic mushrooms.

Cory Dean Stevenson, 23, and Daniel Robert Sigmund, 19, each face single counts of possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both have been released on bail.
