Fire chief Larry Watkinson confirmed Monday morning a man who was pulled from the waters of Skaha Lake Sunday afternoon did not survive.
RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Services are still investigating.
Just before 2 p.m. on July 3, emergency crews from the RCMP, Penticton Fire, and the ambulance service were called out for a possible drowning at Sudbury Beach on Skaha Lake where witnesses say paddleboarders were already searching the area.
A male was found and pulled from the water by firefighters in the department zodiac. CPR was performed and the male was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital. His status is not known at this time.
