Island Health is investigating the contents of a small blue pill found in a bag of mini donuts at the Alberni District Fall Fair.
“On Thursday at 8:17 p.m. a call was received at the Port Alberni RCMP detachment from an Alberni District Fall Fair attendee,” said Cpl. Amelia Hayden.
“The woman and her family were at the fair and had purchased a bag of mini donuts from one of the concession stands. Upon biting into a donut, the woman bit down on what appears to be a small blue pill.”
The woman immediately spit out the donut and the pill then contacted police.”
The police seized the donut and pill and then met with the concession stand operators.
The stand operators appeared shocked and were cooperative during the investigation unaware of how the pill could have ended up in the donuts, according to Hayden
This matter remains under investigation.
The woman and her family did not feel any effects from the pill however were advised to seek medical attention as a precaution, Hayden added.
