Police dog Rook tracks down suspect who tried to evade officers

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 23 calls for service from December 19th, 8 AM to December 20th, 8 AM

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 23 calls for service from December 19th, 8 AM to December 20th, 8 AM. During the same time period there have been 5 people lodged in Terrace Cells. Three of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

A man was observed pushing a screaming woman into a white van behind the Golden Star restaurant. Police spoke with the people involved. Everyone was fine. It was a misperception.

Intoxicated man hanging out in the entrance of a business on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 72 yr old man for public intoxication.

Man passed out at the bus stop near McDonald’s. Police arrested a 37 yr old man for public intoxication.

Elsewhere Terrace

Noises heard in a vacant building on Braun St. Checks were done.

Intoxicated man passed out in the Library Park. Police arrested a 71 yr old man for public intoxication.

Theft of a vehicle. The person was known. The vehicle was returned later in the day.

Belligerent intoxicated man at Polly’s Café left in a green 2005 Dodge Caravan. Checks were done in the area. Under investigation.

Woman passed outside of a residence on Little Ave. Police located the woman with an intoxicated man and transported both to the damp shelter for the night.

Domestic dispute. Police spoke with an intoxicated man and woman. The 48 yr old man was arrested.

Domestic assault. Suicidal 30 yr old woman. The woman was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. The man and woman both had injuries. Under investigation.

False residential alarm on McRae Cr. It was cancelled prior to police attendance.

A lamp post was knocked over in a trailer court on Graham Ave.

Domestic. Uttering threats investigation.

A taxi driver was assaulted by a fare on Gair Ave. Under investigation.

Suspicious vehicle parked running at the curling rink. Police spoke with the driver. He was sober.

Thornhill

Two ATV’s driving erratically on Penner and Fox St. Checks were done of the area.

Fight at the Thornhill Pub. People became belligerent and aggressive with staff when they were asked to leave. Everyone had left prior to police attendance.

Possible impaired prohibited driver in a white 2006 Ford van. The van was taken without the owner’s permission. Police located the van. It failed to stop for police. The vehicle was driven into the ditch at Mailbox Point/Catt Point Rds and the driver fled. Police dog Rook tracked the man who was hiding in the bush and snow. Police arrested the 28 yr old man. BC Ambulance treated the man for minor injuries he received while being apprehended. He is held for court.

Rural

A purse was found and returned to its owner.

White dodge Ram truck in the ditch near Kleanza Bridge on Hwy 16 east with two occupants. Checks were done the area. Investigation determined that the vehicle was towed and there were no injuries.

Two vehicle motor vehicle incident on Hwy 37 near the airport. Police located a grey Honda Civic in the ditch not blocking traffic. Footprints were observed leaving the vehicle.

Police located a missing woman. She was in the presence of a man on conditons to have no contact with her.

Assist Fire Department with a vehicle fire on Attree Rd. The vehicle had been plugged in all day and had caught fire.

A vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Mackenzie Rd off of Hwy 37 whne the vehicle behind him attempted to pass him on the left and struck the driver’s side of his vehicle. No injuries.

Deceased 78 yr old woman on Hamer Ave.
