Three men are in Vernon police custody after attempting to break into a residence Monday afternoon.
Police responded to a report of a break-in in the 3900 block of 29th Avenue. The call came from a citizen who saw the B&E take place.
“When officers arrived, three men were seen exiting the front door of the home,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk. “They were told they were under arrest.”
Two of the men stopped, and were taken into custody immediately, while the third bolted. He was apprehended a short distance away.
Two of the suspects, aged 19 and 20 were slated to appear in Vernon Provincial Court Tuesday to face charges of break-and-enter. The third man was released on a promise to appear in court.
