Police look for public’s help in propane thefts

Thirteen propane tanks were stolen from the Skaha Lake Road 7-11 gas bar Dec. 29.

Penticton RCMP are asking for for witnesses or anyone with information after the theft of 13 propane tanks that were stolen from the Skaha Lake Road 7-11 gas bar on Dec. 29.

RCMP said around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 staff of the 7-11 reported the theft of 13 propane tanks taken from the exterior display at the gas bar located at the south end of Skaha Lake Road.

The theft is thought to have occurred between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and police believe the suspects loaded up the tanks and hauled them away in a vehicle.

RCMP investigators are seeking information and asking anyone who witnessed the tanks being removed or knows any other information about the theft to contact Penticton RCMP Cst. Ritcey at 250-492-4300. Those looking to provide anonymous information can contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
