Three teens earned a lecture from police

Caught with pot

Three teens earned a lecture from police after officers were called to a report of a disturbance on the beach near the Brentwood ferry terminal on Sept. 30. Officers on patrol responded around 11 a.m., located three youths and could smell marijuana. The the youths were found with a small amount of pot which was seized and destroyed. After a talking to, the teens were sent on their way.

Random vandalism

Officers were called to a home in the 1200 block of Verdier Avenue around 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 for a report of a rock thrown through a window.

Central Saanich police have no suspects in what appears to be a random act of vandalism.

Swerve stop

Poor driving drew the attention of a Central Saanich officer on routine patrol around 3 a.m. on Oct. 2.

The officer noted that a vehicle on Keating X Road turning onto West Saanich Road was swerving and being driven poorly. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver showed signs of impairment, police said. After a roadside screening, the Brentwood Bay man driving was issued a 90-day roadside suspension and had his vehicle towed and seized for 30 days.

Speeding snare

A Victoria man faces a driving suspension after being stopped on Oct. 1 just after 3 a.m. A Central Saanich police officer on routine patrol on Wallace Drive near Centennial Park stopped a speeding vehicle on Wallace Drive and the driver exhibited symptoms of impairment. After a roadside screening, the driver was issued a 90-day roadside suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
