A wallet was stolen from a vehicle

Overnight swipe

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle in the 2500 block of Fielding Place and discovered Sept. 8. No damage to the vehicle was reported. The wallet contained cash, credit cards and identification.

Ride home

A group of youths were dispersed from a picnic table area near the Butchart Gardens entrance. Central Saanich Police were called to the area on Sept. 9 just before 7 p.m. and discovered the group of youths and open liquor which was disposed of. The crowd was dispersed; one intoxicated Brentwood Bay girl was taken home to her parents.

Police greeting

The Central Saanich Volunteer Fire Department and Central Saanich Police Service are opening the doors to greet residents on Sept. 24. If you missed it at the Saanich Fair, Child Find will be there to fingerprint kids. Tour emergency vehicles, see a fire hose demonstration, and enjoy hot dogs and a piece of anniversary cake as the two departments celebrate 60 years. The open house is between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the police and fire building, 1903 Mount Newton X Road.
