Chilliwack RCMP have released the sketch of a man wanted in connection with an incident on Tea Pot Hill Trail in late February.
According to police, the man approached two women as they were running along the popular trail above Cultus Lake on Feb. 24. He attempted to grab one of them, police say, however the woman was able to get away. The man was described as being in his 20s, scruffy in appearance, and wearing dark clothing.
“In these types of investigations the police rely on the public for assistance,” said Corporal Tammy Hollingsworth. “This incident is very concerning to us and we are hoping the community can help us with identifying the man in the sketch to further our investigation,” she said.
“It’s important to remember all composite sketches are an artistic interpretation made based on witness statements to produce a likeness of a suspect for identification,” Hollingsworth added. “In most cases there may be certain characteristics that may not exactly be the true likeness of the suspect involved, but may be similar in nature.”
Anyone that can identify this man or has any other information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
