News from the Summerland RCMP detachment over the past week.

Fence damaged

On Oct. 21, the fence at the Pacific Agri-food Research Centre was damaged when it was struck by a vehicle.

Police said the front licence was left behind.

The vehicle, which had been stolen from Penticton earlier, was later recovered in Penticton.

Pedestrian struck

On Oct. 2, police were called after an 11-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle on Quinpool road.

Police say the driver had swerved to avoid the boy.

The boy received head injuries from the accident.

Notice board lit

On Oct. 23, police were called after a notice board at the Sweet Tooth on Victoria Road North was set on fire.

The fire was extinguished by the wind that evening.

Tree struck

On Oct. 23 at 11 p.m., a motorist on Victoria Road South lost control and struck a tree.

The wheel assembly was damaged in the incident.

A passenger suffered a broken leg as a result.

The incident is still under investigation.
