The Oceanside RCMP is confident someone saw something that could lead to the cracking of an assault case last month in the vicinity of Parksville’s orange bridge — and they’d like to hear all about it.
The assault took place on Nov. 4 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. when a 32-year-old Parksville man was walking on the Island Highway near the bridge when he was approached by three unknown men, who assaulted him by punching, kicking and striking him with skate boards.
The suspects robbed the victim of an item which police are keeping confidential.
The victim was treated at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for multiple fractures, broken ribs, cuts and scrapes.
The first of the suspects is described as a Caucasian male, medium build, 5’6” tall, with sandy curly hair, which was covered with a baseball cap and dark hoodie.
The second suspect was a Caucasian male with acne on his face, a skinny build, 5’6” in height and wearing an army-style jacket.
The last of the trio was described as a heavy set native male with what is described as a Justin Beiber-style hair cut and standing 5’10” tall. He was wearing an MMA-style hoodie with black, red and white markings.
All three individuals have been described as being between 16 and 20 years of age.
Anyone with information which may assist in solving this crime is requested to contact the Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
