Port Alberni man stabbed in neck and side

A Port Alberni man was flown to Victoria after suffering stab wounds to his neck and side.

A 38-year old Port Alberni man was transported to Victoria General Hospital after being stabbed in his neck and side.

At 4:46 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, Port Alberni RCMP responded to a call of a man having been stabbed. The stabbing occurred inside a residence on the 4900 block of Neill Street.

The man remains in the Victoria hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. The reason for the attack is unknown at this time and RCMP General Investigation Section is still working on the investigation.

The incident was not a random act of violence, said Port Alberni RCMP Cpl. Amelia Hayden, and that all parties are known to police and each other.
