VicPD are warning the public to keep their eyes peeled, after a Friday afternoon report of a possible cougar sighting in the area of the Fernwood Community Centre on Gladstone Avenue.
The call came in at about 3:15 p.m. Officers responding did an extensive search of the area and found nothing, but believe the report is credible. Neighbours around the centre, and staff were notified, as were conservation officers.
Police ask that anyone who may see the cougar call 911 and be extra vigilant with small children or pets while outdoors.
