Progress being made on Falkland area fire

An evacuation alert remains in effect for 25 properties near Bolean Lake

Due to the hard work by crews and a recent downturn in weather, progress has been made on the Bolean Lake wildfire which remains at 350 hectares in size and is now 75 per cent contained.

There were 57 firefighters, one helicopter and three pieces of equipment active on the fireline Sunday.

“Crews are using direct attack methods to reinforce the guards and mop up hot spots along the fire’s perimeter,” states the B.C. Wildfire Service.

An evacuation alert remains in effect for 25 properties. More details can be found at: www.csrd.bc.ca
