Public information meetings held in Pinantan re: proposed fire protection

Petitions distributed to owners of 436 properties within the proposed area as part of a public-assent process

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has conducted two public information meetings in Pinantan about a proposed fire-protection service area, and has distributed petitions to the owners of the 436 properties within the proposed area as part of a public-assent process.

Property owners who support the establishment of a fire protection service and borrowing up to $470,000 for construction of a fire hall and purchase of equipment have until noon on Tuesday, June 30, to submit their completed petitions to the TNRD. Property owners within the proposed service area who have not yet received their petition are encouraged to contact the TNRD as soon as possible.

Final petition results will be published after June 30.

The presentations from the community meetings and other information about the proposed service and borrowing are available on the TNRD website.
