North Okanagan residents have rallied around health care once again.
Thursday’s 13th annual Sun FM Have a Heart Radiothon raised a record $62,100 for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
“We would like to thank everyone who generously contributed to the radiothon,” said Elise Allan, foundation president.
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Brian Martin and Betty Selin broadcasted live from Village Green Centre, while individuals, businesses and groups donated funds for a central monitoring system for Women’s and Children’s Health Services at VJH.
A central monitoring system promotes timely, targeted care and lets nursing staff simultaneously view the vital signs of a number of infants and children from the nursing station.
“The dedication and support from Brian Martin, Betty Selin and the amazing team at Sun FM continues to help make health care better for kids and families in the North Okanagan,” said Allan.
