RCMP investigate Lake Country home invasion

Resident threatened at gunpoint and a large quantity of marijuana and cash was stolen.

Police have released more details about a home invasion in Lake Country.

On Sunday at 1:30 a.m., the police received a report that a Darlene Road homeowner was held at gunpoint while a large quantity of marijuana and cash were stolen.

“The residence contained a licensed medical marihuana growing operation and appears to have been targeted,” said Const. Kris Clark, with the RCMP.

The 28-year-old resident was the only person home and was uninjured in the incident.

Public assistance is being sought into what is believed to be a home invasion in Lake Country.

In the early morning hours of Sunday,  a homeowner on Darlene Road was threatened at gunpoint and a large quantity of marijuana and cash was stolen.

“The RCMP feel that this was a targeted event,” said Cst. Chris Joy, with the Lake Country detachment.
