RCMP Report: Driving while impaired by drugs

Clearwater RCMP’s Traffic Services unit reported issuing a male from Alberta a 24-hour driving prohibition for being impaired by drugs.

The vehicle was towed and a small amount of non-prescribed drugs was seized.

No further charges against the male are being forwarded at this time.

Truck weaves all over road

Police received a driving complaint about a tractor-trailer weaving all over the road, almost causing a collision.

The transport truck, which was hauling a load of steel, was pulled over.

The driver was impaired by alcohol and was issued a 90-day driving prohibition. The tractor was seized for 30 days and was towed along with the trailer.

The company that owned the business was advised of the report.

More than a pound of marijuana

Police pulled over a vehicle on Highway 5 driving between Little Fort and Barriere.

Police entered into a drug investigation and more than a pound of marijuana was located and seized.

The driver was arrested and charges are being forwarded against him.

 

Police seize drugs

Police pulled over a vehicle on Highway 5 near Clearwater. Police entered into a drug investigation.

The driver and passenger were arrested. A small amount of cocaine, mushrooms and marijuana was located; all items were seized. Police continue to investigate.

 

Thousands of dollars

Police pulled over a vehicle from Alberta at a road check in Barriere and entered into a drug investigation.

Marijuana was seized as well as approximately $7,000 in Canadian currency. The driver was released roadside with an upcoming court date.

 

Wear those seat-belts

Lately police have encountered several vehicles with both children and adult passengers asleep in the vehicle not wearing seat-belts at all, or not wearing seat-belts properly while lying down asleep in the rear seats or cargo areas.

A number of seatbelt tickets have been issued as a result of these stops.

 

Shots fired on Highway 97

Clearwater RCMP were advised of a shots fired complaint in 100 Mile House on Highway 97.

It was reported that a suspect, driving a grey SUV with Ontario plates was shooting at transport trucks.

Incidents were reported from Houston, Vanderhoof, Burns Lake, Prince George, Lac La Hache and 100 Mile House. A .40 calibre firearm was being used.

Police Dog Services, ERT (emergency response team) and various police detachments were all involved. The suspect was located and arrested in Chilliwack and held to go before the courts.

 

Found bike

A female bike in poor condition was located in a snow bank on Dunlevy Road.

• Two reports of mischief to vehicles;

• Two abandoned vehicle reports;

• A trespass report;

• A wellbeing check of a local resident;

• Three suspicious occurrences (one leading to a 24-hour – impaired by drugs); and

• A cause of disturbance report.
