Clearwater RCMP report that on Oct. 31 unknown person(s) pulled out a stop sign and threw it in the middle of the road.
This may have seemed a harmless prank to the persons involved but the ramification of their actions could have been big. Not only could someone have hit the sign but also there could have been a motor vehicle incident because a driver didn’t know he or she was supposed to stop.
Break and enters
There were three break and enters to businesses in Clearwater and Blue River during the week. Various items stolen. Possible suspects were arrested in McBride as they continued on their spree. Charges were forwarded.
Impaired drivers
Clearwater Traffic Services and General Duty each handed out 90-day suspensions for impaired driving under the immediate roadside prohibition (IRP) program. Both vehicles were impounded for 30 days and the drivers’ licenses were suspended for 90 days.
Vehicle versus deer
On Monday, Nov. 7, police received a report from Blue River of a vehicle hitting a deer.
The driver was unable to avoid the deer coming out of the opposing ditch, resulting in damage to the vehicle. Alcohol was not a factor and no tickets were issued.
Abandoned vehicle
Police received a report of a vehicle that had been left near Clearwater Valley Road for approximately seven days. The vehicle was gone prior to police attendance.
