RCMP Report: Theft and recovery of truck

Clearwater RCMP report that a truck was stolen from the parking lot of a local grocery store and then recovered the next day

Police were advised of the theft of a truck from the Buy-Low parking lot in Clearwater that occurred on Thursday, June 23 between 11 a.m. and 1p.m.

The following morning, the truck was located nearby in Clearwater with damage to the ignition and other minor damage to the vehicle.

Video surveillance was reviewed and the truck was examined by the Forensic Identification Section from Kamloops.

Police await the results of the examination to see if the fingerprints are a match with those of a previously convicted suspect.

Disturbance

Clearwater RCMP report they were called out to a disturbance at a local trailer park after two males got into a shoving and grappling match over work in the trailer park.

Police separated the two males. There were no injuries and no charges were forwarded.

 

Suspicious occurrence

Police were advised of a suspicious occurrence that took place recently in Clearwater.

It was reported that at 10 p.m. one evening a doorbell rang and a male and female asked if the person had a room they could stay in for the night in exchange for work. The two were sent on their way.

The male was described as Caucasian, 5′-6″ with dark navy jacket, a large red backpack and with a British or Australian accent. The female was described as taller, 5′-8″, Caucasian with a maroon jacket and very large backpack. Her accent was similar to the male’s.

Police ask that they be contacted right away so any suspicious behavior or occurrence complaints can be acted upon and suspects located and identified.

 

Single vehicle collision

Police were advised of a tractor-trailer collision on Highway 24 near Little Fort.

The tractor, which was hauling lumber, was blocking the roadway and was partially down in the ditch with two flat tires.

It was reported that the tractor trailer had been traveling up the hill in the slow lane when a red truck cut it off so badly that the driver swerved, hitting the rocky shoulder of the ditch.

The driver was able to keep the vehicle upright. The lumber on the trailer shifted but was not spilled.

 

Disturbance

Police were advised of a disturbance at Birch Lake Campground.

Two local residents – one known to police and one new to town – were in a physical altercation.

Police attended and learned that the two males had gotten into a consensual fight.

There were no injuries sustained by either male and no charges were forwarded.
