On Oct. 1, Clearwater RCMP investigated a break-and-enter at Clearwater Post Office. It was determined that several items were stolen, including a large variety of stamps. Police requested the public report anyone attempting to sell stamps.
On Oct. 5, Kamloops RCMP received a report of a female attempting to sell stamps in Savona. Kamloops RCMP and Southeast Traffic Services members attended, located a suspect vehicle and took a male and female into custody.
Police recovered a variety of stamps which had earlier been reported stolen from Clearwater Post Office; however the problems didn’t stop there for the pair.
Police were able to confirm the vehicle involved was the vehicle associated to an attempted break and enter at the Clinton Government Liquor Store on Oct. 4. The vehicle involved was determined to be a rental car.
The female initially provided a false name to police. She was subsequently identified and determined to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
The male was also determined to also have a warrant for his arrest as he had failed to attend court earlier that morning. The male was found to be breaching various conditions of a prior release.
Both were held in custody for court and face a variety of additional Criminal Code charges for their crime spree.
