Monday morning incident resolved, no ongoing safety concerns for area

Surrey RCMP responded to a call at Cloverdale Traditional School on the morning of Monday, April 17.

Officers responded just after 6 a.m. following a dropped 911 call in the area.

Surrey RCMP Sgt. Alanna Dunlop said the incident had no relation to the school itself.

Cloverdale residents reported seeing multiple RCMP cars on site that morning as they passed by on their morning commute.

“(The responders) didn’t know what they were walking into,” said Dunlop.

RCMP found a person in distress at the scene. Dunlop described the call as a “medical situation” and the person later sought medical attention.

Dunlop said there are no safety concerns for the school or for the surrounding community.

“We’ve since investigated and determined this was an unfounded event,” she said.
