The Regional District of Central Kootenay has agreed to donate some igloo-style recycling bins to the Shambhala Music Festival in exchange for a donation to the Salmo food bank.
The festival plans to use them for beverage container recycling.
Currently the igloos are only used for glass collection and surplus bins are stored at the landfill near Salmo. It hasn’t been determined how many bins the music festival will receive, but they will be responsible for picking them up and taking them to the festival grounds.
