Bus service will operate throughout the Regional District of Nanaimo on New Year’s Day 2012.
“Operating region-wide bus service on New Year’s Day will provide added value for our customers and will also help to lower greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the amount of vehicles on the road,” said Joe Stanhope, Regional District of Nanaimo chairman, in a press release.
The service provided will be the normal holiday Sunday (Jan. 1) schedule available in the RDN Transit System Riders’ Guide and online at rdn.bc.ca. If New Year’s Day transit use is significant, the RDN will consider including the service as part of its regular scheduling.
