The Mission Record took home two honours at last weekend’s Newspaper Canada national awards held in Toronto.
This newspaper came in second place in its circulation category for best front page, followed by a Blue Ribbon, which recognizes overall excellence of the publication in terms of design, advertising design, writing and photography.
“It really is an honour to be applauded on the national scale for our efforts,” said Record editor Jason Roessle of the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards. “All of us who work here strive to provide our community with our best efforts each week, and to have our peers see this dedication, is appreciated.”
“I am extremely pleased to see The Mission Record acknowledged once again for excellence in newspaper publishing. The Record has a very loyal audience and readership continues to remain high,” said publisher Andrew Franklin. “The staff at The Record deserve recognition for all their efforts and I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented team.”
The annual awards program celebrates excellence in community publishing from coast to coast and highlights the best in editorial, photography and multimedia initiatives.
