The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Emergency Operations Centre has imposed an evacuation alert (not an evacuation order) concerning the wildfire burning on the North Shore outside of Nelson.
The alert applies to residents in the area between Sitkum Creek South and Willow Point (Six Mile Lakes Road).
Residents will be notified should conditions worsen, the alert says.
The RDCK alert says there are about 350 residences affected.
