The City of Vernon is updating motorists on a number of road projects.

Phase one of the line painting program is near completion.

“Contractors will be finishing curbs and symbols and long-line painting (which includes centre lines and fog lines) is scheduled to begin Tuesday between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications officer.

The city will be paving a service patch at 32nd Avenue between 31st and 32nd streets. The paving process will be split into two phases to reduce the impact on traffic flow. Work is scheduled to begin Thursday and is expected to take about two days to complete.

City crews will also be conducting sewer main cleaning and inspection on 27th Street between 36th and 48th avenues from Tuesday to June 3.  The work will involve temporarily closing travel lanes from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“Although every reasonable effort will be made to minimize the disruption to traffic, motorists should be prepared for minor delays,” said Laing Gahr.
