Extreme caution is being urged when driving icy roads and streets this morning.

Princeton schools are closed today because of icy roads, and the municipal busses are not running.

“Please try not to walk or drive unless you have to,” said Michael Mazurak, town public work’s manager.

“The roads are improving as it warms this morning. They were extremely treacherous at 6 a.m. We’ve been salting and sanding since…Crews are out with buckets and scoops. We are trying to do our best.”

Mazurak said given weather forecasts travelling should become safe by noon.

Drive BC is reporting slippery sections of Highway 3 from Saturday Creek to Princeton.
